CHE We Need Your Help St. Margaret's Health SMP Heal Due to the recent surge in upper respiratory illnesses, we are seeing an increasing demand for medical services and, as a result, increasing wait times at our facilities. We are asking for the community's help. Most of these illnesses will resolve on their own in 10-14 days and do not necessarily require a visit. They can be managed with supportive care like rest, fluids and over-the-counter medications. Disease spread can also be controlled by wearing a mask and staying home when ill. Reasons to seek care may be: Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath Ribs pulling in with each breath Persistent pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen .Severe muscle pain, weakness or unsteadiness (child refuses to walk) .Dehydration (no urine for 8 hours, dry mouth or no tears when crying) Not alert or interacting when awake/confusion .Seizures Fever above 104°F Any fever in children younger than 12 weeks Fever or cough that improves but then returns or worsens . Worsening of chronic medical conditions This list is not all-inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptom that is severe or concerning. Please consider if a medical visit is truly warranted so that our resources can be used for those most in need. If a visit is needed, please be aware that wait times may be longer than usual, and your patience is greatly appreciated. Our goal is always to provide the best possible care for the community, and we are here to serve you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. aboutsmh.org fin CHE We Need Your Help St. Margaret's Health SMP Heal Due to the recent surge in upper respiratory illnesses , we are seeing an increasing demand for medical services and , as a result , increasing wait times at our facilities .
