HELP US HELP YOU! Our fears are being realized every day... COVID-19 cases have skyrocketed to heights we haven't seen since late 2020. Our hospital beds and ICUS are full and ventilators are becoming scarce once more. Critically ill patients are stuck in the Emergency Department for far too long waiting to be admitted or transferred. Our staff is dedicated and working hard, but we're short-staffed and overwhelmed. We worry we won't have the ability to care for your loved ones when they need us-whether they're infected with COVID-19, or have some other medical emergency, injury or illness. We're Asking You for Your Help. Here's What You Can Do: MASK UP when you're in public and indoors, regardless of your vaccination status, but especially if you are not. GET VACCINATED. The vast majority of our hospitalized COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated. If you are fully vaccinated, get the booster. GET TESTED if you're displaying symptoms- and do it as soon as possible. If positive, ask your provider if you have other underly- ing conditions that would qualify you for outpatient treatment. USE CONVENIENT CARE OR YOUR PHYSICIAN'S OFFICE. Do not come to the Emergency Department unless it is really an emergency. Ask your provider for a virtual visit unless you can't breathe or are experiencing other life-threatening symptoms, like chest pain. STAY HOME if you test positive to avoid affecting others who might find themselves in our hospitals. Quarantine in your home to avoid infecting other family members. ONLY TOGETHER, WITH YOUR HELP, CAN WE END THIS. St. Margaret's Health SMP Health MLA HELP US HELP YOU! Our fears are being realized every day...
