End of Life Situations: Family members permitted as space allows We offer tele-health visits for COVID-positive or suspected positive patients Personal clergy may be allowed; this will be arranged through Pastoral Care Obstetrics Unit: Due to vulnerability of both mother and infant, visitation remains limited to the patient's significant other (SO). The SO may accompany the patient to the OB department So required to wear a mask at all times and must get temperature checked S0 must remain in the room with patient, and cannot be "swapped out" for someone else OB sonogram patients may have a S0 accompany them in for the sonogram. If the patient is required to wait at any time in the waiting room, the SO must wait outside the building until the patient is ready to go back. This is so we can control the waiting room and reduce the risk to our patients St. Margaret's Health SMP Health System Special Procedures: Patients allowed ONE support person that can remain with the patient in their stall from admission until patient is taken for procedure Once the patient is taken back for procedure, support person must leave the hospital Staff will call patient's support person when the patient returns from their procedure and will be given a pick-up time. Discharge Instructions will be reviewed at this time Pain Management patients who are NOT receiving anesthesia (local only) will be allowed ONE support person to accompany them to their appointment. The support person will be allowed to remain in the Special Procedure's stall while the patient goes in for procedure All visitors must follow all the rules put in place for the health and safety of all visitors and patients. All visitors must wear a mask over both the nose and mouth AT ALL TIMES while you are inside the hospital, including inside patient rooms. Same Day Surgery (SDS): Patients allowed ONE support person that can remain with the patient in his or her stall from admission until the patient taken for procedure. Support person will be asked to leave and contacted by phone for updates on the progress of the patient's procedure Parents of pediatric patients may remain in the stall, or if the stall is needed, they will be sent to the waiting room (so they can be called back to recovery room, if needed) Same Day total joint replacements will have a support person return to SDS once the patient returns to his or her stall to be included in post op education efforts All other SDS patients will have their support person meet them at Main Entrance door upon discharge Morning Admit patient's support person allowed to remain with patient for up to two hours post op once they return to their assigned room Visit aboutsmh.org/visitors to view the new visitor policy that must be followed for entry.
