Hope needs a helping hand. BECOME A CASA VOLUNTEER. CHANGE A CASA CHILD'S STORY. LASALLE COUNTY Spring 30-Hr. Training Series VOLUNTEERS WILL BE SCREENED USING THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older. All volunteers will submit a completed written application including references. All volunteers will submit to a personal interview. All volunteers will authorize a background check of the Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) system, and submit to a finger printed FBI and ISP criminal background and local law enforcement search as well as any out-of-state localities where the candidate has resided in the past 7 years. All volunteers will authorize a check by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) central registry--Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS), and National Sex Offender Registry. All volunteers will be subject to Social Security verification, possess a valid Driver's License per Illinois DMV records, and have reliable transportation. Volunteers cannot currently be on parole or probation. Volunteers may not have any pending felony charges or any felony Monday, May 10 Registration and Orientation 6p-9p Monday, May 17 Class 6p-9p Thursday, May 20 Class 6p-9p Thursday, June 3 Class 6p-9p Saturday, June 5 Class 9a-3p Monday, June 7 Class 6p-9p convictions. CASA will not accept volunteers with convictions for sex offenses or violent offenses. Volunteers may not have convictions for drug offenses for the past five years. All volunteers will sign a confidentiality form. V All volunteers will sign a conflict of interest statement. AND upon successfully completing the above requirements and the National CASAGAL 30-Hour training, will be Thursday, June 10 Class 6p-9p Monday, June 14 Class 6p-9p Swear-in Ceremony on Wednesday, June 16 10a Criminal Justice Center in Ottawa commissioned by a LaSalle County Judge.
