EL Zarape opened its doors during the fall of 2000 in Mendota, Illinois. We serve only the finest Mexican-American cuisine, using the freshest ingredients possible. We not only prepare some of the most common dishes of Mexican culture including tostadas, tacos, tamales and tortillas but we also offer four levels of hotness: mild, mild II, hot and flaming.
El Zarape runs special coupons every month and always has a daily special. Catering is also available for any of your special events. Carnitas (fried pork) are what we traditionally prepare for special occasions like weddings and Holiday parties. In many cases dishes are prepared from family recipes.
