A public hearing to approve a proposed tax levy increase for Putnam County Community Unit School District No. 535 for 2019 will be held on December 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at 400 E. Silverspoon, Granville, Illinois. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Mr. Carl B. Carlson, Superintendent, 400 E Silverspoon, Granville, IL 61326, 815/882-2800 option 5. II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2018 were $5,621,479.12. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2019 are $6,514,155.00. This represents a 26% increase over the previous year. II. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2018 were $112,956.25. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2019 are $117,731.25. This represents less than a 0.96% change over the previous year. IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2018 were $5,621,479.12. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2019 are $6,514,155.
